  The Enchanted Neighborhood by Sarah

  We moved to Iowa City from out of town and I toured multiple day cares in the Iowa City area, and there was nothing that compared to the day care that we had to leave. Once I met the owner of The Enchanted Neighborhood and she was honest and real I knew that I had found the right place. They have provided a sense of comfort that has made it possible for me to focus on my career while knowing that my child is taken care of. While no one wants to be away from their child the amount of hours that you have to be when you are a full time working mom, The Enchanted Neighborhood eases the daily guilt by allowing me to pick up a happy girl that loves being at day care. We have been there for 3 years now and I couldn't be happier with the staff and owner! Enchanted Neighborhood has been more than a blessing to our family!

  Sunshine day care by allison

  We have been most fortunate to have Allison Crawford care for our oldest son for nearly three years. We strongly feel that Allison is an exceptional child care provider who consistently and tirelessly provides a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment for all of the children in her day care. Allison is remarkably aware of the range of needs for all of the children given their varying ages and strives to give each child age-appropriate direction while maintaining a cohesive group dynamic: it is always impressive to see how well all of the children interact. This was especially beneficial to us when our second child arrived, as our son was incredibly compassionate and caring towards his infant brother. We credit Allison and her effort to teach all of the children to interact and treat others with kindness and care regardless of differences in age. Allison regard teaching as an important part of her day care program. We are impressed by how much our son learned about various topics ranging from community helpers to outer space: it is truly amazing to hear one's four year old talk about the different characteristics of each planet and correctly identify them by name. Even more impressive is how Allison teaches these lessons, such as with hands on crafts using a variety of materials and incorporation local field tripos related to the topic when possible. Allison also believes that play is very important part of learning and she provides an endless rotation of new activities such as art, music, building blocks and materials, dress up and plenty of great outdoor time in her wonderful backyard-a truly amazing child-centered space that we were so thankful our son was able to enjoy. We will forever be thankful for our son's time at Sunshine day care and for Allison's role in our son's life at such a crucial time. We are happy to know that he will carry with him great memories from his time with Allison and all of his friends from Sunshine day care. Leslie
